Three hours after intranasal inoculation of F-musX-VeroE6 (2×10^6 TCID50 in 20μl), adult (6-month-old) BALB/c females mice were injected intravenously with 100μl of anti-mouse TNF- rat monoclonal antibody (1μg/μl, Biosource), or isotype-matched control rat antibody (1μg/μl; MP Biomedicals, Solon, OH) in PBS, or injected intraperitoneally with 100μl of recombinant mouse IFN-γ (0.05μg/μl; R&D Systems, Minneapolis, MN) or intraperitoneal injection with 100μl of PBS/0.1% bovine serum albumin was used as control. At least two independent experiments were performed (n=5 or 8 per group). |
