Llamas were prime vaccinated each with 35 μg of a recombinant S1 protein produced in a baculovirus system, emulsified (1:1 volume) with Montanide™ ISA 206 VG (Seppic) adjuvant and intramuscularly administered (2 ml per animal and dose) in the right side of the neck. A boosting immunization was conducted 3 weeks later as above (left side of the neck) but with 50 μg of recombinant S1 protein produced in HEK 293 T cells, emulsified (1:1 volume) with Montanide™ISA 206 VG (Seppic) adjuvant. At day 37, A12-A16 were brought in contact with A4-A6. |
